CANTON, N.Y. – Bates College outdoor track and field concluded its season Saturday with outstanding performances at the NCAA Division III Championships at St. Lawrence Unversity.
The Bobcat women finished in a school-best tie for third among New England schools. Junior thrower Liz Wanless placed second in the shot put with a hurl of 48 feet and three-quarter inches, earning her second All-American award of the school year. Senior co-captain Kelley Puglisi finished fifth in the 1500-meter run and set a new school record with a time of 4:31.91.
The men’s squad finished fourth among New England schools. Justin Easter of Jay and Joe Northrup, who placed eighth in the decathlon, each earned All-America honors in the competition.
