LEWISTON – Gary M. Yackley has completed the required training to fit the C-Leg on above-knee amputees, according to New England Brace Company, Inc. of 217 Main St.

This leg enables the amputee to walk without fear of falling and gives the wearer newfound confidence in ambulation. The course was offered in Minnetonka, Minn., at the United States headquarters of Otto Bock Health Care Inc.

Yackley is a certified prosthetist, board eligible orthotist and Clinical Director of the New England Brace Co. Maine Branch. He has practiced orthotics and prosthetics in Lewiston since 1992 and resides with his wife in Casco.
