NEW YORK – Jamie Moyer became the majors’ first 10-game winner and the Seattle Mariners, with Ichiro Suzuki again leading the way, beat the New York Mets 7-0 Sunday to complete a doubleheader sweep.

Suzuki got four hits in the opener as the Mariners bolted to a 12-run lead and routed the Mets 13-1 behind Freddy Garcia’s six-hitter.

Cardinals 11, Orioles 10

ST. LOUIS – Scott Rolen hit a tiebreaking grand slam and Jim Edmonds drove in three runs on two homers, powering the St. Louis Cardinals to an 11-10 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

Rolen went 4-for-5, his fifth career four-hit game, as St. Louis finished with 18 hits.

Braves 6, Pirates 5

ATLANTA – Javy Lopez hit two of Atlanta’s four home runs – giving him four in two days – and the Braves beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-5.

Andruw Jones and Rafael Furcal also homered for Atlanta, which leads the majors with 98. The Braves have won five straight and matched the best 61-game start in franchise history at 42-19.

Angels 8, Marlins 5

MIAMI – Adam Kennedy and Garret Anderson hit run-scoring singles in a three-run fifth inning as the Anaheim Angels took advantage of an error to rally from a four-run deficit and beat the Florida Marlins 8-5.

Phillies sweep A’s

PHILADELPHIA – Jim Thome and Bobby Abreu each homered and drove in two runs as the Philadelphia Phillies finished a doubleheader sweep with an 8-3 victory over the Oakland Athletics.

Kevin Millwood pitched seven strong innings in the opener and Pat Burrell hit a three-run homer to help the Phillies snap a four-game losing streak with a 7-1 win.

Blue Jays 5, Reds 0

CINCINNATI – Kelvim Escobar pitched a four-hitter for his third career shutout and drove in a run with his first hit, leading the Toronto Blue Jays to a rain-delayed 5-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

Astros 2, Devil Rays 1

HOUSTON – Tim Redding combined with two relievers on a three-hitter as the Houston Astros beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 2-1 and matched their longest winning streak of the season at seven games.

D-Backs 13, Indians 3

PHOENIX – Robbie Hammock had four hits, including a pair of triples that tied a team record, to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks over the Cleveland Indians 13-3.

Expos 3, Rangers 2

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Brad Wilkerson’s second run-scoring double broke a tie in the eighth inning and helped the Montreal Expos send the Texas Rangers to their ninth straight loss, 3-2.

Rockies 8, Royals 7

DENVER – Chris Stynes drove in three runs, Larry Walker and Charles Johnson each had two RBIs and the Colorado Rockies beat the Kansas City Royals 8-7 to avoid a three-game sweep.

Scott Elarton (3-1) won his third consecutive start for the first time since Aug. 16-27, 2000. Elarton went five innings, allowing 11 hits and six runs.

Giants 7, Tigers 6

SAN FRANCISCO – Pinch-hitter Edgardo Alfonzo had a tiebreaking double with two outs in the eighth inning as the San Francisco Giants rallied to complete a three-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers, 7-6.

Padres 9, Twins 4

SAN DIEGO – Mark Loretta had four hits, including a go-ahead, two-run single in the eighth inning, as the San Diego Padres rallied past the Minnesota Twins 9-4.

Ryan Klesko and Brian Buchanan each added a two-run homer to complete a six-run outburst in the eighth against LaTroy Hawkins (4-1) and Mike Nakamura.

White Sox 10, Dodgers 3

LOS ANGELES – Frank Thomas hit a two-run homer and Tony Graffanino had a two-run double during a five-run fifth inning that carried the Chicago White Sox over the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-3.

Cubs 8, Yankees 7

CHICAGO – Sammy Sosa capped a tumultuous weekend with his 2,000th career hit, and Mark Prior showed the New York Yankees what they missed out on five years ago.

Prior struck out 10 in six innings and Moises Alou and Ramon Martinez homered as the Chicago Cubs held on to beat the Yankees 8-7 to take two of three in the teams’ first meeting since the 1938 World Series.
