1917 – 2003

FARMINGTON – Roberta P. Moyer, 85, of Wilton, died unexpectedly, Sunday, June 8, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Born in Oakland, Iowa, Dec. 11, 1917, a daughter of Vernie and Mollie (Chaney) Putnam, she attended schools in Nebraska.

On July 18, 1936 she married Thomas Moyer in South Omaha, Neb., and he died in 1972. Mrs. Moyer worked as a switchboard operator in a physician’s office in California before moving to Maine in 1977.

She was very involved in the community as a volunteer for Seniors Plus, Wilton Senior Citizens and organizing Beano games at the Edgewood and Sandy River Nursing Homes. She was a member of the Wilton United Methodist Church and it’s Women’s Group.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and shopping with friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Nisonger and her husband, David of Morgan Hill, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Jerri Rackliff of New Sharon, Roberta Beedy of Saco, David and Susan Nisonger of California, Theresa, Tina and Tony Moyer, all of Oregon; and six great-grandchildren, Jessica Beedy, D.J. Rackliff, Mikey Staples, Brandon and Ashley Beedy and Quinton Nisonger.
