JAY – Selectmen voted Monday to hire Sue Westin to direct the town’s summer recreation program for youth.
Westin, formerly known as Sue Poulin, plans to use some vacation time from her job as the Jay School Department’s supervisor of maintenance, grounds and transportation, Town Manager Ruth Marden said. She will get paid accordingly for the hours she puts in at the recreation program, Marden said.
“She’s got some great ideas,” she said. “She is planning on working closely with Recreation Committee.”
“We have thought for some time that it would be a perfect fit if the recreation program and the school were married because of the resources the school has,” Marden said.
Bus transportation will be provided for the five-week program that begins Monday, July 7, and ends Friday, Aug. 8.
“Because we don’t qualify for subsidized lunches, it will cost $2 a day for those people who don’t want to send a lunch,” Marden said.
