FARMINGTON – Selectmen on Tuesday set a special town meeting for next month so voters could take care of a few items.
The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at the Community Building.
Residents will consider accepting a $10,000 planning grant to extend water lines to three housing complexes for the elderly. The town would act as the fiscal agent for the Community Development Block Grant.
Voters will also have a chance to decide whether to adopt a subdivision ordinance that would update the town’s regulations on subdivisions.
Residents will also consider updating the town’s Budget Committee Ordinance that outlines the duties of the board. It also establishes 11 three-year staggered terms for regular members and four one-year terms for alternates. Now there are 15 members appointed yearly and no alternates.
