I was delighted to read that former Justice Louis Scolnik had received a special award (June 7).
Two other things that the public may like to know: he was appointed to the United States Civil Rights Commission and he did Central Maine’s NAACP legal work without pay.
He and his wife continue to quietly help newcomers to Lewiston with their problems.
