WINTHROP – Winthrop Grange 209 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the grange hall. Refreshments will be served at 7. The mystery ride was postponed.

Garden tour

LEWISTON – The Garden Club of the Woman’s Literary Union will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at the home of Jeanne Pacheco, 56 Harold St. Time will be spent walking the flower gardens in her yard, which was on the Maine Music Society’s garden tour last year. Members are asked to bring a lunch and a lawn chair. Beverages and dessert will be furnished by the hostess.

Volunteers needed

MONMOUTH – The Theater At Monmouth is seeking volunteers for the upcoming season, which kicks off on July 5, with “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” and continues with “The Philadelphia Story,” “Julius Caesar,” “Dangerous Liaisons” and “Alice in Wonderland.”

Volunteer duties include ushering, car parking, concessions and gift shop. Volunteer benefits are watching the shows free and earning points to spend in either the gift shop or on tickets for a friend.

A meeting will be held for those interested at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 19, on the steps of Cumston Hall. For details contact Vaughn Donahue at the theater at 933-9999 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Club open house

AUBURN – The Taylor Pond Yacht Club will have an open house on Sunday, June 22, at its facility off Perkins Hill Road. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include tours of the facilities and an opportunity for children to sign up for art, tennis, swimming and sailing lessons for the summer sessions. Gender Project

LISBON FALLS – The University of Maine Cooperative Extension, under the Gender Project initiative, provides educational support and assistance to individuals, groups and communities interested in exploring gender socialization and equity issues, and developing strategies to implement in their communities to support all young people to grow up whole. The Extension offers workshops and seminars, community video/discussion series, community meetings and a resources library.
