MACHIASPORT (AP) – The search for a missing Clifton man continued Monday after his pickup truck was found over the weekend.

A Ford Ranger belonging to Ronald “Shorty” Wade, 52, was found near Bucks Harbor in Machiasport on Saturday.

A local fisherman found Wade’s kayak in ocean waters about two miles from shore on May 28, the day Wade was reported missing.

Family members reported that Wade left his Route 9 home without his medication and might have been confused.

On Monday, teams from the Maine Warden Service and the Marine Patrol used a search plane to sweep the area but found nothing. They were joined by members of Wade’s family and local fishermen, who searched the shorelines of nearby islands.

Mark Latti, spokesman for the Maine Warden Service, said the air search would end Monday.
