WILTON – The Wilton CareerCenter will offer two additional workshops in June and July.

The first, “Employment Enrichment Program,” is a two-day, fast-paced workshop to give participants an awareness of basic workplace skills that local employers have been seeking. The workshop will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 25. An employer-approved certificate will be included at no cost to participants, who must attend both days. Space is limited. People can phone 645-5800 to reserve a space.

The second workshop, “Essentials of College Planning,” provides step-by-step instructions on filling out financial aid forms to assist in getting the maximum amount in grants and/or loans. The workshop will be 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, July 24. Participants must preregister for this session by phoning 1-800-281-3703.

Golf scramble

WILTON – The first Farmington-Wilton Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble will be held at 3 p.m. July 10 at Wilton Lake Country Club. Teams of four players are being sought at a cost of $50 per person, which includes greens fees, cart, complimentary gift and barbecue. Adult ed trip

KINGFIELD – The SAD 58 Adult Education will offer a trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands beginning Feb. 14. An informational day will be held between 10 a.m .and 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at the Adult Education Office. All necessary forms will be available at that time or at any time that is convenient to the prospective traveler.

The registration fee for the trip is $95 with the balance of the cost paid in monthly payments provided that the full amount is paid by Dec. 14, which is 60 days before departure.

Audubon trip

EUSTIS – Western Maine Audubon Society will sponsor a day of birding and canoeing at Flagstaff Lake on Sunday, June 29. Participants will meet at 10 a.m. at the entrance to Cathedral Pines Campground on Route 27 and join bird enthusiast Wendy Howes for a guided birding and canoe trip. Participants must provide their own canoe and gear. It is suggested that participants also bring a lunch, as well as drinking water and adequate equipment for light walking and leisurely canoeing.

The cost of the trip is $10 for Audubon members and $15 for nonmembers. The group size is limited to 15 people. To reserve a spot or to check on weather conditions/possible cancellation, people can call field-trip coordinator Andrea Nurse at 639-4496.
