1920 – 2003

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. – Mary E. “Betty” Bell, 83, of 184 Main St., Fairhaven, Mass., and formerly of Lewiston, died early Friday morning, June 27, at the Nichols House Nursing Home.

Born in Lewiston, Jan. 31, 1920, the daughter of Lewis F. and Katherine M. (Joyce) Bell, she attended Auburn schools.

She was a long-time resident of the Lewiston-Auburn area.

She had been living in Fairhaven, Mass. for several years.

She attended several beauty schools, including the Harper School in Rochester, N.Y., and made her career working in beauty salons.

She was a former member of St. Patrick’s Church in Lewiston, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and frequently attended Mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Lewiston.

She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by one sister, Lois Bell Pratt.
