BETHEL – A new exhibit, “Middle Ground: Exploring the Need for Wood and Woods in Today’s Society,” at the O’Neil Robinson House of the Bethel Historical Society will open officially Friday, July 4, at the Community Picnic.
The exhibit is free and open to anyone interested in learning about the concerns of those living and working in a forested environment in transition.
Visitors are invited to share their opinions on how best to achieve a balance between the desire for wood and woods.
Class luncheon
RUMFORD – Women of the class of 1952 from Stephens High School will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 7, for their monthly luncheon at the summer residence of Reggie and Angie DeSalle Arsenault, Roxbury Pond. The cottage is located at the base of the hill on the right. Anyone needing a ride may call Barbara Doherty.
Bridge play
RUMFORD – The Duplicate Bridge Club played at the home of Anna Cormier on Roxbury Pond last week. Winners were: first, Clair Roy and Paula Humbert; second, Anna Cormier and Woody Mercier; third, Alan Bradford and George Kimball.
From now on the games will be held at the Community Center at 7 p.m. on Thursdays.
