LEWISTON – Susan Olson Gwozdz, executive director of WorkMed Occupational Health Services in Lewiston, was recently selected to serve on the Board of Directors of Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility.
Olson is the current executive director of WorkMed, Rehab Services, and Prevention and Wellness at Sisters of Charity Health System. She has over 18 years of experience in the management of worksite health promotion, safety, workers compensation and occupational health programs.
Most recently she served as assistant vice president for health and productivity programs for UnumProvident. In this capacity, she initiated and established new evaluation systems for programs that brought UnumProvident national recognition for its demonstrated health, safety and disability management initiatives by receiving two C. Everett Koop Health Awards.
Olson holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Massachusetts and has served as a visiting scholar at the Harvard School of Public Health’s Occupational Health Program. She is a graduate of the executive program in health policy and management at the Muskie Institute of Public Policy at the University of Southern Maine.
Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility, founded in 1993, is an association of businesses committed to creating a new business climate that recognizes that long-term, sustainable profitability is directly linked to acting in a socially responsible, ethical and compassionate manner.
