1926 – 2003

WINTHROP – Delphine Leona Gerald, 77 of Monmouth, died Friday, July 11, at Nicholson Nursing Home.

She was born in Masardis, on June 24, 1926, the daughter of the late Thomas and Meddie Gagnon. She was educated in Masardis schools. She had been employed at Bates Mill and in various nursing homes before retiring.

She was an avid fisherman, loved camping and canoeing. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, quilting and making dolls. She looked forward to cooking for the annual family reunions. She enjoyed company with her family and friends. Her deepest loves were her dog (Little Boy) and her cat (Tar Baby).

She is survived by one son, Terry Gerald of Spokane, Wash., and his wife Lorna; four stepgrandchildren, Stephen, Christopher, Scott and Cynthia; one stepdaughter, Judy Bronson; one stepson, Billy Bronson; three sisters, Lillian Daigle of East Millinocket and her two children, Dwinal and Carol, Nellie Carney of Monmouth and her five children, Diane, Linda, Sylvia, Victor, Thomas, Bernice Lebel’s surviving six children, Anita, Lorraine, Annette, Rennie, Donna and Lillian, Ruth Coreau and her husband of Saco and their four children, Stephen, Carol, Michael and Mark; four brothers, Albert (Gib) Gagnon of Portage and 11 children, Darey, Douglass, Rose, John, Barbara, Beverly, Wayne, Sandra, Antoine, Gilbert and Peggy, Arnold Gagnon and his wife Fern of Millinocket and their three children, Thomas, Patricia and Jeanine, Ellis Gagnon and his wife Irene of Norwich, Conn., and their two children, Susan and Christal, and Larry Gagnon and his wife Diana of Auburn and their two children, Tammie and Theresa; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two nephews, Richard Gagnon and Theordore Lebel; one sister, Bernice Lebel and her husband Willard; two brothers-in-law, Victor Carney and Rosaire Daigle; and one sister-in-law, Edwina Gagnon.
