1913 – 2003

SOUTH PARIS – Ruth J. Truman, 89, of South Paris died Friday, July 11, at Market Square Health Care Center.

She was born in Mechanic Falls on Oct. 17, 1913, the daughter of Frank and Adeline Keene Thompson. She attended school in Mechanic Falls and completed one session at Farmington Normal School.

She worked in local shoe shops and at Wilner Wood Products. She married Walter S. Truman on June 5, 1936 he passed away on July 2, 1984. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters.

She is survived by a son, Jeff and his wife Sheila of Corinna; a daughter, Jean McAllister and her husband Carl of Norway; a sister, Winnie Hoile of Norway; a daughter-in-law, Betty Truman of Rockville, Md; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, James on Oct. 28, 1980.
