WINTHROP – Winthrop Grange 209 members will go on their annual supper mystery ride on Tuesday, July 15. Members and friends should be at the Manchester Mall where they will leave at 5 p.m.
Crime watch
MINOT – A neighborhood crime watch meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the Minot Consolidated School. The meeting will be outside, weather permitting. There will be speakers from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department and Maine State Police K-9 unit.
Basic banking
LEWISTON – Peter Lavallee, branch manager, and Linette Dehetre, assistant branch manager of the Sabattus Street Fleet Bank, will present a program from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at the Hillview Resource Center.
The presentation will be centered around basic banking and the management of credit. The program is sponsored by the Family Self-Sufficiency Program of the Lewiston Housing Authority. DAR tea
BOWDOIN — Regent Jayne Bickford announces that Burnt Meadow Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, in lieu of its monthly meeting, will hold a reunion tea beginning at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the West Bowdoin Baptist Church Parish House, West Road, West Bowdoin.
The purpose is to honor those persons who, over the years, have been named by the Burnt Meadow Chapter as DAR Good Citizens and/or received National Defense Medals.
Those who fall into one of those categories who have not been contacted are invited to attend.
Leavitt reunion
TURNER – Leavitt Area High School class of 1998 is making plans for a five-year reunion. Bridge play
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on July 8 at the Multi-Purpose Center. North/South winners in Flight A were: first, Fred Letourneau and Martine Begert; second, Margaret Dunlop and Anna Vitiello. Flight B winners were Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau.
East/West winners in Flight A were: first, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; second, Nick Karamessinis and Jane Fournier. Another game will be held at 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at the center. A partner is guaranteed.
The club also met on July 9 at Schooner Estates. North/South winners were: first, Gary Thompson and Don Skolfield; second, Paul Barber and Luke Merry; third, Doug and Betty Sise.
East/West winners were: tie for first, Pat Quinn and Mary Leahey with Ray Sirois and John Hackett; third, Fred Letourneau and Sherry Hinckley. Another game will be held at Schooner on July 16. For more information and/or a partner, call Lucille Theriault at 783-0431.
