NORWAY – Members and guests of the Oxford County Retired Teachers Association will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, at the Norway Unitarian-Universalist Church. There will be a short meeting followed by a baked chicken dinner. The program will be dime bingo games to help raise money for the scholarship fund.

Any retired teacher or retired teachers’ aides who are not members on the phone chain list, and who would like to attend, can call 743-7677 or 743-6503 to reserve a seat for dinner and the games.

Red Hot Mommas

RUMFORD – The Red Hot Mommas of Western Maine met recently at Freddie’s Restaurant. There were 21 members in attendance including six new members. Members signed up for two upcoming trips. One is Aug. 7 to the Rangeley Country Club and the other is on Aug. 9 for a trip on the Songo River Queen. The next meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Freddie’s Restaurant.

RUMFORD – Winners at the Rumford Duplicate Bridge Club on July 10 were: first, Paula Humbert and Clair Roy; tie for second between Anna Cormier and Woody Mercier, and Jean and Stan Sotman.
