BRIDGTON – Two gallery openings, informal gallery talks and art demonstrations will keep Bridgton’s newly-formed Art Guild front and center with visitors and residents alike during the next month.
The series kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday, July 25, with a reception celebrating the Bridgton Art Guild’s first show at Gallery 302, 38 Main St. Exhibiting guild members will greet visitors and to discuss their work.
Sharon and Bill Theobald, long-time Bridgton residents and gallery owners, will give an informal presentation at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1. This pair travels the world appraising fine art, consulting and running auctions. The couple has recently returned from a mission to Beijing. Because of space constraints this event is open to guild members only.
Guild membership is not limited to artists. Anyone can support the arts by joining the guild. Attending various guild events shows community support for the arts, artists and artisans.
Guild artists and artisans will demonstrate their various techniques and media during Pondicherry Days, Aug. 8, 9 and 10.
This is the guild’s first step toward promoting arts within the community. There will be morning and afternoon demonstrations around town.
At 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, Gallery 302 will host a reception for the second Bridgton Art Guild summer show featuring some 40 artists, artisans and fine craftsmen.
Gallery 302 is a nonprofit art cooperative, run by artists and artisans for artists and artisans. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the summer.
