AUBURN – Volunteers from the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society’s Summer Youth Program will hold a car wash from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at Agren Appliance on Minot Avenue.
A donation of $5 a car is asked. All proceeds will benefit the Humane Society.
The society provides a safe haven for approximately 3,600 sick, homeless and abused animals in the greater Androscoggin area a year. The primary support for the shelter comes from fund-raising events and donations.
The shelter’s community services include animal intake and adoption, animal health, reuniting people with lost animals, humane education and working with individuals who are disadvantaged or developmentally disabled.
The Humane Society, located at 3312 Hotel Road, is holding a capital campaign to build a new shelter. If interested in helping, call 786-4713.
Anyone interested in volunteering at the shelter or adopting an animal can visit the shelter or visit the Web site at www.gahumane.org.
