AUBURN – A section of High Street will be closed to traffic early Thursday as road crews attempt to fix a problem that has vexed the area for years.

Between 6 and 11 a.m., crews will pave a section of the roadway around railroad tracks in hopes of preventing future flooding in the area.

Auburn Highway Department Supervisor Richard Keene said a stretch of High Street will be closed between Minot Avenue and Academy Street. Crews expect to be finished their work by noon.
