AUBURN – The Mollyockett Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, is sponsoring another Four Week Vocal Improvement Program under the direction of Pat Fleck.

The course begins Tuesday, Sept. 9, and continues for the next three Tuesdays through Sept. 30. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the night of the first lesson, Sept. 9.

Any woman interested in developing or re-kindling a love of singing is encouraged to enroll. A background in chorale, chorus or choir singing, or an involuntary need to sing for the fun of it is all that is required. The ultimate goal is to inspire participants to jon the chorus.

Participants will be instructed in the development of vocal skills, proper posture, how to take care of ones instrument (voice), correct breathing techniques, formation of vowels in a way to produce the resonant sound of barbershop music and to sing with artistry and emotion. They will be given the opportunity to participate with the chorus in a live performance at the Sawyer Memorial Music Series in October.

The chorus has been performing to audiences throughout the Oxford Hills and Central Maine communities since becoming chartered in 1996. Members come from Auburn, Bethel, Bridgton, Bryant Pond, Casco, Harrison, Lewiston, Lovell, Norway, Otisfield, Paris, Poland, South Paris, Stoneham, Rumford and Waterford. Chorus rehearsals are every Tuesday night at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints on Skeetfield Road in Oxford, just off Route 26.

For more information call the director, Pat Fleck at (207) 647-5005 or Alda Reynolds at 782-2672 or Sue Bartlett at 824-2468.
