ELLSWORTH (AP) – A motorist who lost his life in a one-car crash on U.S. 1-A was identified Sunday as a New York City man.

David McKennan, 46, was killed Friday night when his car left the road and struck a large tree, police said. His name was withheld until family members could be notified.

Investigators said speed was apparently not a factor in the crash but alcohol may have been, Sgt. Bart Tokas said.
