This year’s volunteers will meet to report on the event on Monday, Sept. 15.

LEWISTON – The Festival de Joie board of directors, at its annual meeting, announced the dates for next year’s 12th annual event as Aug. 6, 7 and 8 at Railroad Park. The Prelude will be held Aug. 3, 4 and 5 on Lisbon Street.

The Prelude will get under way with a concert on Aug. 3 at the Franco American Heritage Center at St. Mary’s. Opening ceremonies will be held on Aug. 4 followed by a parade.

The Prelude will also include sidewalk cafes, vendors, crafters, strolling musicians and street dancing along with additional entertainment.

The board re-elected Lionel Guay as chairman; Ron Fournier, treasurer; and Jim Sutton, secretary.

A special meeting of all volunteers who served this summer and anyone interested in volunteering next year will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 150 East Ave. Reports will be made on the festival and suggestions and comments received on the event and ideas for next year’s festival. Everyone is invited as it will be the only volunteer meeting until next spring.
