1952 – 2003

LEWISTON – Claudette Denyse Guy-Knox, 51, a resident of Auburn, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Sept. 9, after being taken to Central Maine Medical Center.

The daughter of Real P. Guy and Suzanne T. Roy-Guy, she was born in Lewiston on Sept. 3, 1952. She was a student at Sacred Heart School and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1970. She attended John Roberts Powers Modeling School in New York City, and then spent two years at Stevens School of the Bible in Lenox, Mass.

An avid homemaker, she invested time and talent to fashion her home into a welcoming place of comfort for family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, antiquing, frequenting garage sales and especially treasured her days at Popham Beach.

She was loved by preschoolers Alec, Jarryd and Derrick, who were often in her care. Although she had many interests, there was nothing she cherished more than the close relationship she had with her children, Joshua and Emily. She was an affectionate, devoted mother and made their lives richer for her presence.

She will be fondly remembered by family and friends for her generosity of spirit, warm heart and friendly smile.

She will be sadly missed by her mother of Auburn; her four sisters, France Shea of Auburn, Polly Hill and her husband Brian of Bel-Air, Md., Coleen Potvin of Auburn and Jessica Taylor of Lewiston; her nephews and nieces, Christopher Shea and his wife Bridget, Ryan Shea and his fiancée, Alexi Tucker, and William and Caitlin Hill.

She is reunited in heaven with her father; maternal grandparents, Rose and Charles Roy; and her paternal grandparents, Elise and John Guy.
