1945 – 2003

LEWISTON – Sharon R. Pelletier, 58, of 13 Lara Lane, Sabattus, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Central Maine Medical Center following a long illness.

She was born in Saco on June 7, 1945, the daughter of Bion and Pauline (Jamieson) Beal. She was an Army brat having grown up in California and North Carolina. She came back to Maine in 1969.

She loved children and was with them most of her life. She was in the Girl Scouts for 20 years and was a Sunday School Teacher. She was a former volunteer for the Head Start Program in Lewiston and St. Joseph’s Daycare in Auburn.

She attended UMA Lewiston/Auburn where she was the recreational organizer and Vice President of the Student Council.

During the summer months, she worked at various campgrounds throughout Maine as an Arts and Crafts Director and Recreational Organizer including Camp Bishopwood in Hope.

She had a registered daycare in Lewiston for 15 years where she loved taking care of babies.

She enjoyed camping, doing arts and crafts, playing softball and horseshoes, roller-skating, and riding her bike. She especially enjoyed watching her daughter play tennis. She also loved getting down and dirty in her flower garden.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Pelletier of Sabattus; two sons and their wives, Timothy and Victoria Rucker of Lewiston, and Kenneth and Cynthia Rucker of Sabattus; one daughter, Nicole Pelletier of Sabattus; three grandsons, Billy Jo and Wayne Rucker of Lewiston, and Christopher Taylor of Sabattus; four granddaughters, Valerie Fournier, Danielle and Joline Dubuc, and Shelby Rucker all of Lewiston; one great-grandson, Kaleb Rucker of Lewiston; two sisters, Linda Grebin and Kathleen Woodcock and her husband Roger all of Tucson, Ariz.; she will be sadly missed by her cat “Fearless”.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her brother, Douglas Beal.
