PARIS – The First Baptist Church of Paris has returned to its 10:30 a.m. worship service schedule and 9:30 a.m. Sunday school for adults and children. Coffee hour will follow the service. Fellowship lunch will be held the first Sunday of each month, after the worship service.

The church is located on the commons at the top of Paris Hill. Pastor Ron Blake presides.

Community meal set for Monday

PERU – A community luncheon will be held at noon Monday, Sept. 15, at the Rockemeka Grange Hall, 92 Peru Center Road. The hall is handicapped-accessible. On hand will be Families in Crisis Task Force staff and volunteers. Donations will be accepted but not required. For more information, people can call 562-8581.

Church centennial has kids’ events

MEXICO – As part of its 100th anniversary celebration First Baptist Church of Mexico will start its monthly children’s program with a “Back-to-school Round-up from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15. This event will be a fun family night. All children in grades kindergarten through sixth in the area are welcome. Parents are invited to attend.

This special event will be held outdoors on church property. There will be family games, contests, Western style meal with 100th anniversary cupcakes. There will be singing of inspirational praise songs led by the First Baptist Church worship team. A special guest, Douglas Twitchell, a well-known ventriloquist, will do Bible stories and music.

The monthly children activities most always include games, snack, craft work and Bible story. These events are scheduled on the second or third Mondays of the month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. September through May. For more information phone Pastor Bob or Joy Peters at 364-8850.

Arts center offers yoga classes

NORWAY – Yoga classes will be held from Sept. 15 to Oct. 28. The schedule is Mondays from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m.; and Tuesdays, 9:30 to 11 a.m. and 4 to 5:30 p.m. There will be no classes Ot. 13 and 14.
