LEWISTON – A man hurt when his motorcycle was struck by a car at Cedar and Oxford streets Saturday remained in critical condition from his injuries Monday night.

Dale D. Tripp, 40, of Auburn was being treated at Central Maine Medical Center for injuries to his chest, head, hips and legs suffered in the 10 p.m. crash.

Police said Tripp was driving a 2002 Harley-Davidson east down Cedar Street when a teen driving a 1994 Volkswagen Jetta approached driving west. The car stopped and turned left onto Oxford Street, striking the motorcycle as it passed by.

The driver of the car, Katherine J. Frank, 17, said she didn’t see the motorcycle, police said. She was not injured.

Tripp was not wearing a helmet, police said.

Both vehicles were totaled. The accident is under investigation.
