AUBURN – A 12-week coastal navigation course will be offered from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Edward Little High School.

The course prepares one for safely navigating the Maine coast. It is often said that “if you can navigate the Maine coast safely, then you can navigate any coast.” The classes cover subjects such as chart reading, dead reckoning plotting, current and tide adjustments, bearings, GPS and navigation safety.

American Sailing Association certification, recognized by most charter companies, is available if desired, as the instructor is certified to conduct American Sailing Association examinations.
