1918 – 2003

LEWISTON – Rachel G. Veilleux, 85, of 6 Genest St., died Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion where she had resided for the past nine months.

Born in Lewiston June 9, 1918, a daughter of George and Marie Rose Angers Roberge she was educated in Lewiston schools. She worked at Shapiro Bros. Shoe Co. and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and bingo.

Mrs. Veilleux was a member of Holy Family Parish and Ladies of Ste. Anne’s Sodality.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene of Lewiston whom she married in 1942; her children, Gerald and his wife Sue, Roland (Larry) and his wife Anita, a daughter-in-law, Doris Veilleux, Eugene Jr. and his wife Rachel; eight grandchildren, Richard and his wife Karen, Jerilyn, Sandra and her husband Caleb, Angela, Nichole, Katie, Karen and Eugene III (Geno); six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Gabrielle, Meredith, Andrew, William and Lillian; three sisters, Yvette Renaud and husband Albert, Muriel Guay and Jeannette Potvin; a brother, Roland Roberge and his wife Therese.

She was predeceased by two sons, Richard and Paul Veilleux; and a brother, Henry Roberge.
