TURNER – Jen Gondeck netted a goal off a rebound at 21:17 of the first half to lift Leavitt to a 1-0 win over Rockland in field hockey action Thursday.

Kristin Schrepper made 10 saves for the Hornet (4-0) win, while Alex MacMillan stopped 14 shots for the Tigers (2-3).

Messalonskee 1, Lewiston 0 OT

LEWISTON – Lauren Blake scored the game’s only goal 7:41 into overtime to send Messalonskee to a 1-0 win.

Blake emerged from a pileup in front of the Blue Devils (0-4) goal and slipped the ball into the open net for the win.

Maggie Booth made seven saves for the Eagles (2-2), while Angie St. Hilaire recorded 20.

EL 4, Brunswick 1

BRUNSWICK – Gina Gaetani notched a goal and an assist to lead Edward Little to a 4-1 victory over Brunswick 4-1.

Katie Frank, Katie Hughes, and Kristin Keene all chipped in with goals for the Eddies (5-0). Heather Martineau claimed two assists.

Laura Young netted the lone goal for the Dragons (0-3-1).

Mary Martin and Katie Ouellette split time in net for EL, combining for two saves, while Natasha Revels stopped 32 shots in net for Brunswick.

Mt. Blue 0,

Oxford Hills 0

SOUTH PARIS – Double overtime proved fruitless as Mt. Blue and Oxford Hills drew to a 0-0 tie in KVAC field hockey action Thursday.

Brianna Thompson was strong offensively for Oxford Hills (3-1-1), while Heidi Judkins worked hard on offense for the Mt. Blue (2-1-1).

Aubrey Ramos stopped 20 shots for the Cougars, while Val Seames made 15 saves for the Vikings.

Waterville 8, Oak Hill 1

WATERVILLE – Annie Pease scored a hat trick as Waterville cruised to an 8-1 rout over Oak Hill in field hockey action Thursday.

Whitney Russo contributed to the Panther (5-0) scoring rampage with a goal and an assist. Right wing Jill Lizotte relayed a pass from Julie Lizotte for the only Raiders’ goal of the contest.

Noel Hinkley repelled 16 shots for Oak Hill (0-5), while Ashley Poulin saw light duty with three stops for the Panthers.

Soccer
Skowhegan 4, Mt. Blue 0

FARMINGTON – Jessica Abbott booted the game-winning shot with 5:38 left in the first half to lead Skowhegan to a 4-0 win over Mt. Blue.

Sarah Enman, Kayla Thompson and Danielle Goff rounded out the scoring with a goal apiece in the second half for the Indians (2-3).

Lisa Gibson turned back seven shots to record the shutout.

Lake Region 5, Poland 0

POLAND – Trish Shorey converted the first two goals of the match to lift Lake Region to a 5-0 shutout over Poland in WMC girls’ soccer action Thursday.

Jaime Monahan tallied the third goal as well as assisting on Shorey’s opening goal for the Lakers (2-2). Brittany Latsey contributed a pair of assists for Lake Region.

Erika Belanger made 10 saves for the Knights (1-3), while Pauly Pelletier stopped 19 for the Lakers. Meghan Ford and Brianna Pratt provided strong efforts for Poland in the loss.

Fryeburg 2,

St. Dom’s 1 (2OT)

FRYEBURG – Megan Harrington popped the game-winning goal with two minutes left in double overtime to lift Fryeburg to a 2-1 win over St. Dom’s Thursday.

Heather Bailey scored off a pass from Carly Rudd to score the first goal for Fryeburg. Lauren Potvin netted the lone goal for St. Dom’s (3-2) off a pass from Renee Meservier.

Corin Hall made eight saves for the Raiders, while Emily Staszak stopped seven shots for the Saints.

Lewiston 1,

Medomak Valley 0

WALDOBORO – Laura Martel converted a pass from Katie Morin inside the box, kicking a long shot that ended in the back of the net as Lewiston slipped past Medomak Valley 1-0 in KVAC soccer action.

Beth Melanson made seven saves for her first shutout of the season for the Blue Devils (3-0-1), while the Panthers (0-3-1) Nikki Brown stopped 18 shots.

Morse 1, Edward Little 0

BATH – Martha Thomas scored an unassisted goal late in the second half to lift Morse to a 1-0 victory over Edward Little Thursday afternoon.

Janel Thomas stopped six shots for the Shipbuilders (5-0), while Jen Gallant made nine saves for the Eddies (3-2).
