FARMINGTON – Christopher M. Guild of Jay has been named branch manager at the Jay office of Franklin Savings Bank. Guild replaces Rich Cormier, who is retiring after 27 years with Franklin Savings Bank.

Guild has been a loan officer at the Jay branch of Franklin Savings Bank for three years. He assists customers in securing residential, commercial and installment loans.

A native of the Livermore/Livermore Falls area, Guild graduated from Livermore Falls High School in 1989 and attended Lewiston-Auburn College, where he majored in business administration for two years.

Guild has taught martial arts for Livermore, Livermore Falls and Rumford and put together self-defense seminars for many local schools and groups such as the Brownies. He also teaches local youngsters about business through the Junior Achievement program.

He is a past president of the Jay-Livermore Falls Rotary Club, a member of the Jay-Livermore-Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce and chairman of its Legislative Committee. He serves on the local March of Dimes Committee and is a AYS T-ball and softball coach.

He is a lector at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay and is a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Prior to joining the Franklin Savings Bank team, Guild was a United Parcel Service, supervisor and originated and processed mortgages for the Summerfield Mortgage Company. He lives with his wife and five children in Livermore, where his family has run Guild’s Country Hardware for 16 years. Guild still puts in an occasional weekend at the hardware store.
