RUMFORD – Girl Scouts of Kennebec Council Telstar Service Unit will hold an information and sign-up night for girls in grades kindergarten through 12 at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Rumford Public Library.

Ranger programs

GORHAM, N.H. – The Androscoggin Ranger District of the White Mountain National Forest is offering environmental educational programs and activities for schools, clubs, after-school programs and other interested groups.

A number of learning topics are offered, including wildlife, plants and trees in the White Mountain National Forest, Leave No Trace principles and hiking safely.

The ranger station on Route 16 has many interactive displays and is open to the public. Prior to Columbus Day, the station is open seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After Columbus Day, the station will be closed on Sundays.
