AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a series of Microsoft Office classes beginning in October.

Classes will include Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Courses start as early as Oct. 14 and range in tuition from $65 for basic and beginner Excel and Word to $125 for intermediate and advanced Access.

Classes will be offered at the beginner, basic, intermediate and advanced levels and will be taught in a hands-on environment in Central Maine Community College’s state-of-the-art computer labs. Each class may be taken separately or as a series. Participants will receive a workbook and CD with additional exercises and skills practice. Certificate of Completion and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) also will be awarded.

“Businesses continue to emphasize that employees are lacking the computer skills needed to perform their job efficiently,” said Diane Dostie, dean of Corporate and Community Services. “By learning shortcuts and advanced functions, employees will understand the benefits of integrating documents, spreadsheets, databases and PowerPoint presentations.”

Complete descriptions on the Microsoft Office classes, precourse evaluations and the schedule of class times are available on the Corporate and Community Service Web site, www.cmcc.edu/training, or by contacting Jennifer Lyons at 755-5280, 1-800-891-2002, extension 280, or by e-mail [email protected].
