WEST PARIS – The West Paris Historical Society will meet for a 6 p.m. potluck supper on Monday, Oct. 20, at the society. Rodney Abbott will speak on Civil War hero Joshua Chamberlain. A new president and vice president will be elected to replace Harlan Abbott and Vernon Inman. New members are encouraged.

Stepfamily series

PARIS – Challenges of living in a stepfamily is the topic of a workshop series offered by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Oxford County. In Step: Building Strong Stepfamilies is a four-part discussion series focusing on recognizing unrealistic expectation, adjusting to new family members, resolving conflicts and communication.

The course is taught from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 30, Nov. 6, 13 and 20 at the Extension Office on Olson Road in South Paris. There is no cost to participate but participants must register by Friday, Oct. 24.

Bridge results

NORWAY – The winners at the Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Oct. 10 session were: first, Richard Balian and Don Johnson; second, Bob and Sue Crane; third, John Rhodes and Marta Clements; and fourth was Pete Cummings and Richard Allen.
