The play is a fund-raiser for SAVES.

FARMINGTON – In response to many requests, an encore performance of Necessary Targets by Eve Ensler will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in Lincoln Auditorium of Roberts Learning Center at the University of Maine at Farmington.

This locally produced play is also a fund-raiser for SAVES, Sexual Assault Victims Emergency Services.

The play is directed by SAVES Office Coordinator and Hotline Advocate Araminta Matthews who directed VDAY-Farmington’s production of The Vagina Monologues.

Necessary Targets is a moving play that puts faces on the mind-numbing statistics of often-forgotten war victims: women who have survived the trauma of rape, depression, poverty, homelessness, and starvation only to be forgotten by most of the world in the aftermath of war.

The play is the story of two American women, one a Park Avenue psychiatrist and the other an international activist who travel to Bosnia to help women refugees deal with their memories of war and come home irrevocably changed themselves.

Tickets for the play are available at the SAVES office, Mickey’s Hallmark or at the door. General admission is $8; seniors and students, $5.
