1927 – 2003

MINOT – Mrs. Georgette M. Jutras, 76, of Sunset Drive in Minot, and formerly of Tall Pines Drive in Lewiston, died peacefully early Sunday morning, Oct. 19 at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Chisholm, Feb. 5, 1927, a daughter of Abel and Rolande (Boucher) Legere. She went to Holy Cross School and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

She was first married to Leo Moreau who died in 1953 and later she married Conrad Jutras in 1959 and he died in 1988. Mrs. Jutras worked locally many years as a beautician.

She owned and operated Georgette’s Beauty Salon for many years which was first located on Maple Street and later on Webber Avenue.

She also was able to be a homemaker during those years and in years thereafter. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Le Pastime Club, the Acme Club, American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies’ Auxiliary and Horizons 55. Among her favorite enjoyments were playing cards, watching movies, cooking and entertaining for family or friends.

She leaves four daughters, Elaine Cole and her husband, Patrick, of Lewiston, Linda Richards and her husband, David, of Dale City, Va., Nancy Niemann and her husband, Mark, of Minot and Anne-Marie Martin and her husband, Ronald, of Lisbon; a son, Michael Jutras of Lewiston; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hermance Page of Fla. and Lewiston and Irene Charpentier and her husband, Eddie, of Fla. and formerly of Lisbon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Yvonne Gilbert.
