1933 – 2003

LEWISTON – Anthony “Tony” H. DeBurra Jr., 70, of Auburn, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 19. “Tony” was a resident of d’Youville Pavilion.

He was born on June 16, 1933, in Lewiston, the son of Anthony H. DeBurra Sr. and Pauline (DeAngelis).

He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1952. He then went to school at SMVTI in Portland before being drafted in the Army and serving during the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany. After which he began working with his father at DeBurra Gulf Gas Station in Auburn. Later he worked for L/A Grocers and retired from Prower Wholesale Grocery. He married his wife Lillian “Kaye” Mosher in 1964.

He was affiliated with the Robin Dow Senior Citizen, First Auburn Senior Citizen where he was given the Charles A. Morse Award. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 31, and past president of Foster Parent Association.

He enjoyed collecting old cars and calling his children every night. His family meant everything to him and he had family gatherings as much as possible. He especially enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lillian; sister, Carmella Murphy and her husband Jim; children, Tony DeBurra, Gino DeBurra and his wife Patty, Kathy Monroe and her husband Dick, Shirley Passalaqua and significant other, Rick Johnson, Bambi Rancourt and significant other, John Skula, Richard Strout and significant other Jill Hackman, Kimberly Julian and her husband Pete; grandchildren, John, Brianna, Joe, Angela, Gino, Michael, TJ, Violet, Jennifer, Cassie, Elgin, Lucas, Dezaray, Crista, Kelsey, Barrett, Brady; great-grandchildren, Avalene, Keegan, Tristan, Latisha, Nathaniel, Shaina, Jason; nieces/nephews, Gina and her husband Rick Mason, Garrett, and Haley Mason; and “Tommy” his cat.

He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Pauline.
