1933 – 2003

AUBURN – Richard L. Morin, 69, a resident of 55 Summer Street, died early Monday morning, Oct. 20, at his residence following a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston, Dec. 26, 1933, the son of Norman and Lena (Morrisette) Morin. He had been a resident of this area most of his life. Mr. Morin owned and operated Morin’s Driving School in Auburn for over 30 years. He was also a volunteer at Hope Haven Gospel Mission for many years. He faithfully attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Lewiston, and was a giving person who helped anyone that was in need.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Morin of Auburn; sons, Richard L. Morin Jr., Dion Morin of Illinois, and stepson, Arthur O’Connor; daughters, Denise Vandermeeden of Tennessee, Lisa Nichols of Illinois, Brenda Carrier of Pennsylvania; a stepdaughter, Vicki Hutchinson; brothers, Bertrand Morin of Hollis, Roger Morin of Wells, and Joseph Morin of Plymouth, Mass.; a sister, Hermance Pettengill of Monmouth; and 10 grandchildren.
