1957 – 2003

TURNER – Daniel Donald Grondin, 46, of Mancine Road, died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 21, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife at his side.

He was born in Lewiston May 17,1957, the son of the late Alfred J. and Simone M. Drouin Grondin. Mr. Grondin was raised in Jay having attended Jay grammar school and graduating from Jay High School in 1975. He also attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle and graduated from C.M.T.C. in Auburn.

On June 23,1984 he married the former Donna L. Koch in Lewiston. Up until his illness, and for the last 19 years, Mr. Grondin was employed by General Electric in Auburn as a Machinist.

He attended St. Joseph’s Parish of Lewiston and was a member of both the Turner Highlands Golf Club and the Timberland A.T.V. Club, of Turner.

As an outdoorsman, he enjoyed the interest of golf, ATVs and snowmobling. and having been an avid athlete, he enjoyed playing and watching sports of all kinds.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years of Turner; three sisters, Mrs. Bob (Colette) DeSotto of Wilton, Mrs. Diane (Jeff) McDonald and Mrs. Fred (Denise) Ouellette all of Jay; two brothers, Marcel Grondin and his wife Linda and Gaston “Gus” Grondin and his wife Brenda Grondin all of Jay; three godchildren, Debra Hodges, Amy Ouellette and Miranda Martin; several nieces and nephews; and his dog and faithful companion, “Stooger”.

He was predeceased by a brother, Claude Grondin in 1996; and a sister, Lisette Caravaggio in 1978.
