PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – The Red Cross says blood levels have dropped to critical levels in New Hampshire and officials are asking residents to donate soon.

To keep New England hospitals fully stocked, at least 1,400 units of blood must be collected every day. The week of Oct. 13, only about 1,100 units of blood were donated.

Blood drives will be held in the Portsmouth area this weekend.



Cop Indicted

ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – A former University of New Hampshire police officer has been indicted on multiple charges of molesting boys and possessing child pornography.

Carl Sonne faces 35 felony charges.

Police found pictures on a computer in Sonne’s home after he was arrested in August and accused of molesting a 12-year-old boy.

Police said one of Sonne’s alleged victims told police Sonne asked him to look at pictures of naked boys and girls on his computer.

Police said he faces molestation charges involving nine boys.
