Transportation needs are becoming regular, headline news in Maine. Fortunately, voters can do something about it this November by voting “yes” on Question 6, the transportation bond.

Transportation needs and programs that will be funded by the proposed transportation bond with its matching $200 million in federal funds are critical to Maine’s ability to continually modernize our roads and bridges.

In addition, Question 6 will provide funding for the other modes of travel in our state. Without a fully funded transportation bond, the Industrial Rail Access Program, the Small Harbor Improvement Program, passenger rail improvements and projects to help our smaller airports and municipal transit programs could be completely cut.

These investments are critical for our citizen’s safety and to help spur economic development. That is why I am voting to support Question 6 in November.
