BUCKFIELD – Chelsea Allen converted a pass from Maura Broberg at 33:24 of the first half to send No. 4 Buckfied to a 2-0 win over No. 5 Valley in Western Class D girls’ soccer quarterfinals Friday.

Broberg iced the game when she converted a pass form Allen with 7:31 left in the second half to effectively put the game out of reach. The Bucks (5-8-2) will face Waynflete in the semifinals Tueday.

Shayna Schackford made 12 saves to record the shutout.

Maranacook 4, Erskine 2

MARANACOOK – Toby Martin picked off a crossing pass from Liz Kennedy from five yards out and blasted it into the

upper right-hand corner of the goal to lift No. 3 Maranacook to a 4-2 win over

No. 6 Erskine in Western Class B quarterfinals.

Christina Spencer, Kennedy, and Emma Prysunka each chipped in with a goal in the Black Bears (12-3) win.

Amy Cloutier made seven saves in goal as Maranacook advances to the semifinal round Tuesday.

Erskine’s goals were scored by Mariah Gleaton.

Winthrop 2, Mt. Abram 0

WINTHROP – Heather Babb headed in a corner kick with 23:12 left in the first half to lead No. 4 Winthrop to a 2-0 victory over Mt. Abram in the Western Class C quarterfinals.

The Ramblers iced the game with an insurance goal at 31:52 of the second half when Ashley Falcone converted a feed from Lisa Pennabare.

Winthrop goalie Katie Brooks needed only five saves to record the shutout.

Winslow 1, Hermon 0

WINSLOW – Brittany Morin found the back of the net with 18:19 left in regulation to send No. 3 Winslow to a 1-0 win over No. 11 Hermon in Eastern Class B quarterfinal soccer action Friday afternoon.

Morin’s goal came as she beat a pair of defenders and raced to within 15 yards out before unleashing the game-winning kick just past the outstretched hands of the Hermon keeper.

NYA 2, Dirigo 1

YARMOUTH – No. 3 North Yarmouth Academy survived a rugged second half to edge No. 6 Dirigo 2-1 in the Western Class C quarterfinals Friday.
