WILTON – Planners will consider two new applications when they meet Thursday. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the town office.

Ted Ellis wants to expand an existing building by 30 percent on Route 2 in East Wilton. The building is where Karkos Heating is currently located.

Dennis Landry plans to build a driveway on his property at the end of Woodland Avenue. Planners will also discuss with Landry the possible need to rezone property he recently purchased.

The property and the area around it is currently zoned industrial. Landry would like his parcel of land changed to residential. He is not asking that the zoning in the rest of the area be changed.

Planners will continue their discussions of issues they want to address this year.

Those issues include taking information out of the zoning ordinance that conflicts with a newly enacted subdivision ordinance, the possibility of increasing the number of hours Code Enforcement Officer Medcoff works in order to address a variety of violations in town and other issues.

Other issues include changes to the land use table, Routes 2 & 4 access management, regulations around signs that advertise brand name products, shoreland expansions, and cluster development.
