BETHEL – Project Opportunity and Telstar Regional High School will hold a Community Forum from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Telstar High School, for the purpose of introducing the College Access Community Grant recently awarded to Project Opportunity and Telstar by the MELMAC Educational Foundation.

The grant will provide substantial funding for activities and services designed to increase the number of Telstar students attending, and succeeding in, a post-secondary program.

The Planning Committee invites parents, students, past-parents, graduates, employers and members of the community to share ideas on which services are most likely to result in this increase. Possible activities might include financial aid advising, college visits, career and educational planning and mentoring programs.

The Community Forum at Telstar will precede a College Planning Night at 7 p.m. Additional Community Forum meetings will be held in Woodstock and Andover later in the fall, and a survey will be conducted by varied means including telephone, online and print.

Pizza will be served at the Forum and for planning purposes, Project Opportunity Executive Director Ted Davis would like to have those planning to attend RSVP to the Telstar Guidance Office at 824-2138, by Monday.
