1922 – 2003

Auburn – Dorothy P. Marchi, 81, of 4 Concord Place, Auburn, died Monday afternoon Nov. 3 at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Rumford Feb. 13, 1922, a daughter of Fred T. and Victoria F. Orino Marchi. She was educated in Rumford schools and graduated from Stephens High School in 1940, and from Northeastern Business College in 1941.

While living in Rumford, she was employed at Oxford Paper Company and later at Boise Cascade from June 1941 until June 1983.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the Rumford Garden Club.

While living in Auburn for the last 16 years, she was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

She was an accomplished cook, knitter, and cross stitcher. She enjoyed painting with oils and was also an ardent quilter and woodworker.

She is survived by one brother, F. Thomas Marchi and his wife Jane of Brentwood, Calif.; two nieces, Liz Stephenson and her husband Rick, and Janice Partridge and her husband Troy, all of Livermore, Calif.; one nephew, Stephen Marchi and his wife Jodi of Pleasanton, Calif.; and six grandnieces and grandnephews, John and Alex Marchi, Taylor and Savannah Stephenson, and Sarah and Ian Partridge.

She was predeceased by her sister, Marie K. Marchi.
