1912 – 2003

LEWISTON – Marie Ange Yvonne (Thibodeau) Poulin, our “Angel”, 91, died Thursday, Nov. 6, at 10 Adele St., her beloved home, where she shared laughter and joy with her family and friends.

She was born in St. Ephrem, Quebec, Canada, on June 26, 1912, the daughter of Polycarpe and Celina Boucher Thibodeau. She came to this country in 1921 and was educated in Nashua, N.H.

Mrs. Poulin was employed in the shoe and textile industries. She married Joseph Leopold Poulin Sept. 4, 1937 and became a fulltime mother to raise her children.

To Mrs. Poulin her family was her life. She enjoyed being a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She loved to dance, cook and share her laughter – especially with the ones she loved. She had a cute wink and a flirtatious smile.

A breast cancer survivor, Mrs. Poulin was a member of Holy Cross Parish, Covenant 50, La Survivance Francaise and a past member of the Knights of Columbus Council 106 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Mrs. Claudette Erlandson and her husband Donald of Topsham, Mrs. Rachelle Cronkhite and her husband Richard of Lewiston, Mrs. Diane Grandmaison and her husband Richard of Lewiston, Mr. Richard Poulin and his wife Elizabeth of Downey, Calif., and Mrs. Jeannie Laplante and her husband Louis of North Conway, N.H.; 15 grandchildren, Steve, Tom, John and Rick Michaud, Caroline (Cronkhite) Mezoin, Anne Marie (Cronkhite) Byrne and Scott Cronkhite, Laurie (Grandmaison) Werts, Amy and Lisa Grandmaison, Michael and David Poulin, Jennifer (Poulin) Simon, Libby (Laplante) StPierre and Luke Laplante; 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Diana F. Poulin of Lewiston, Modena Thibodeau of Arkansas and Delina Thibodeau of Augusta; many nieces and nephews; and her devoted caregiver, Lena Hildebran.

She was predeceased by her husband Leopold in 1983; two sisters, Rose Chalifoux and Eva Dumont; and four brothers, Richard, Arthur, Joseph and Alcide.
