1930 – 2003
RUMFORD – Marion Reta Armstrong, 73, formerly of Whitman Street, Mexico passed away, Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Rumford Community Hospital.
She was born in Dixfield, May 31, 1930, the daughter of Guy and Mary (Hall) Armstrong. Miss Armstrong graduated from Mexico High School, class of 1948.
For over 35 years she worked at Diamond Match Co. as a machine operator. Miss Armstrong loved the out of doors, in earlier years she enjoyed snowmobiling. Throughout her life she had a special fondness for animals, cats were some of her favorites, especially her cat ” Amber.”
She is survived by one sister, Eleanor Armstrong of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one brother, Charles Luther and wife Ida of Roxbury; many nieces, nephews, cousins.
She will be sadly missed by many dear and personal friends.
Miss Armstrong was pre-deceased by one sister, Nora Roberts; and one brother, John W. Armstrong.
