Greetings!

The Maine Winter Sports Center is building a foundation for securing the future of community based skiing in Maine. We are honored and proud to add Black Mountain of Maine to our family. We are adding new terrain for beginners and intermediate skiers this winter and have plans to open trails to the top of the mountain the following year.

You will also see a concerted emphasis on programming that will reach out to the communities of the River Valley and help bring back the skiing lifestyle – a lifestyle that has helped Rumford produce more winter Olympians than any other town in Maine.

Our work on the mountain will be more of an Amish barn-raising party than a typical commercial ski area construction project. Rumford is an extraordinary town and Black Mountain is an extraordinary ski hill.
