Dear Sun Spots: Where can I find legitimate companies that allow people to assemble products at home for money? – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
In addition to responses from readers, Designs by Lucinda, 475 Riverside Industrial Parkway, Portland, 04107, 1-800-799-6116, is one option. According to their Web site, Designs By Lucinda concepts, designs and manufactures whimsical, one-of-a-kind lapel pins that are available for purchase by nonprofits, which in turn sell the pins in their communities to raise funds for such causes as homelessness, breast cancer, literacy, children’s services, domestic violence, Alzheimer’s disease and YWCAs, as well as YMCAs. You will perhaps see these pins for sale in some local libraries, for instance.

Sun Spots spoke with Art Director Gary Cooper who says the company is not currently looking for help, having just completed four consecutive weeks of training sessions. Cooper recommends you keep your eyes open for advertisements in local weekend papers as well as online at JobsinMaine.com.

Jessica Perkins, director of marketing at Lucinda’s, reiterates Cooper’s message. In fact, Perkins says Lucinda’s is coming upon its busy season and because people’s lives and situations change, there may be openings sooner than anticipated. She recommends you send your resume in for possible future openings.

Please contact Penny (207) 998-2325 or Larry (207) 998-4058. – Larry Foster, East Poland.

Mr. Paperback can order one for $14.95, which I cannot afford. I’d love to have the book but am unable to pay a lot for it. Thank you for your help. – No Name, No Town.
