The Maine Music Society presents several concerts at different venues during the holiday and early spring seasons:

Androscoggin Chorale and Maine Chamber Ensemble

December 7, 3 p.m. Franco-American Heritage Center, St. Mary’s Church, Lewiston

Antonio Vivaldi Gloria and Magnificat – two celebratory works by “The Red Priest,” including his justly famous and popular Gloria. Traditional music and other surprises. A great way to get into the spirit of the season. Tickets in advance: $15 adults, $14 seniors, at the door: $17.50

Messiah Sing-Along

Androscoggin Valley Community Orchestra and Members of the Androscoggin Chorale

Ivor Davies Prayers from the Ark; Antonin Dvorak Mass in D

Forty days on The Ark! These wonderfully imaginative poems by Carmen Bernos de Gasztold are set to delightful music that exactly captures the anxieties and meditations of Noah, the Mouse, the Little Bird, the Cat, the Raven, and the Dove. Also, there will be a centennial commemoration of the death of Antonin Dvorak with his small-scale, lyrically beautiful Mass for organ and chorus. Tickets in advance: $15 adults, $14 seniors, at the door: $17.50
